Oxford District GP training is based in world-renowned hospitals and 23 GP training practices in city, market town and rural settings. All our programmes now have 18 months in hospital posts and 18 months in general practice.

ST3 day-release

ST1 learning set: This meets every fortnight in terms, on the first and third Tuesday of the month 2.15pm to 4.15pm at the JR education centre. Dates for the first half of 2008 are: 15 Jan, 5 Feb, 19 Feb, 4 Mar, 18 Mar, 1 Apr, 15 Apr, 6 May, 20 May, 3 June, 17 June, 1 July, 15 July.

ST2 learning set: This meets every fortnight in terms, on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month 2.15pm to 4.15pm at the JR education centre. Dates for the first half of 2008 are: 8 Jan, 22 Jan, 12 Feb, 26 feb, 11 Mar, 25 Mar, 8 Apr, 22 Apr, 13 May, 27 May, 10 June, 24 June, 8 July, 22 July.

Annually these learning sets, along with the deanery's induction day, account for 10 days of study leave. A further 5 days are to be spent in general practice and the remaining leave is for trainees to use as they choose.

Out of Hours - all trainees

 

There are currently three trainer groups meeting for a trial period of a year, as follows:

Second Tuesday of month: 4pm to 6pm at Eynsham Family Medical Group. Dates for the first half of 2008 are: 8 Jan, 12 Feb, 11 Mar, 8 Apr, 13 May, 10 June. The facilitator is Mandy Fry.

Third Tuesday of the month: 4pm to 6pm at the JR education centre (usually room 4b). Dates for the the first half of 2008 are: 15 Jan, 19 Feb, 18 Mar, 15 Apr, 20 May, 17 June. Facilitated by Penny Moore.

Fourth Tuesday of the month 1pm to 3pm at Donnington Health Centre. Dates for the first half of 2008 are: 22 Jan, 26 Feb, 25 Marc, 22 Apr, 27 May, 24 June. Facilitated by Meriel Raine .
