Area, Population and Premises

The practice is based in purpose built, newly modernised premises adjoining the John Radcliffe site. Its position in Headington allows easy access to all the major Oxford hospitals and postgraduate education facilities including the Cairn's library. The practice population covers Headington and several outlying villages giving a wide social mix. This includes hospital and Brookes university personnel, several large council estates and the more rural population in the villages. The total list size is approximately 12,500.
Each partner and the registrar have his/her own consulting room. The practice nurses work from the treatment room and the Health Visitors and District Nurses have attached offices. Because we work together in the same building w are able to meet each day before morning surgery.
The practice is committed to providing care to the highest standard. We aspire to full QOF points this year, and look likely to nearly attain this. As we are a PMS practice we have been able to be flexible in the way deliver services and offer experience in a more innovative practice than is standard in Oxford City.

Special Features

The Manor has been a training practice for 20 years and in addition to GP postgraduate training, is involved with teaching medical students, health visitors, district nursing students and social workers. All members of the team are involved in education.
In consultations computerized records are used. The practice is fully networked using the EMIS system and there is access to a wide range of teaching materials both in paper and electronic form.

The Registrar

Registrars both full-time and part-time are encouraged to be fully involved in all aspects of the practice including all practice and partnership meetings. After surgeries partners and registrars continue their administrative work in a large communal office area. This is an ideal setting for exchanging ideas and views and seeking advice from others. This is a feature of the practice that has been particularly helpful to registrars.
